How to play snake online in Snake Feast

Snake Feast is the classic snake game rebuilt for real-time multiplayer. Eat food to grow, trap your rivals, and be the last snake alive. It is free, runs in your browser, and takes about ten seconds to learn.

Controls

⌨️ KeyboardSteer with the ← ↑ → ↓ arrow keys or W A S D. In single player, Space pauses. In the big arena, hold Space to boost.

📱 Phone and tabletSwipe anywhere in the direction you want to turn. Prefer buttons? Switch to the joystick or the on-screen D-pad in Settings.

Your snake moves one cell at a time and never stops. You can queue two quick turns (for example down then left) to slip through tight gaps: one continuous swipe can chain both.

Snake Feast on a phone at the start of a match, with the spawn shield on and the hint "Swipe anywhere to turn" — On a phone, swipe anywhere to turn, or switch to the joystick or D-pad.

The rules

Eat food to grow. Every piece of food makes you longer and adds to your score. Golden food is worth extra but vanishes after a few seconds.
Don't crash. Hitting a wall, your own body or another snake's body eliminates you.
Head-on collisions eliminate both snakes.
Trap rivals. If another snake runs into your body you earn a kill bonus, and their body turns into food.
Close calls pay. Turning away from a rival right in front of you earns a close-call bonus.
Win by being the last snake alive, or by having the highest score when the timer runs out. In the big arena you respawn, so the highest score wins.
Spawn shield: for the first three seconds (and after every respawn) your snake is protected and can't be killed.

King of the Hill snake mode: a green snake and a crowned red snake fight for the gold-bordered hill while a purple snake approaches — King of the Hill: score while your head is on the hill, and keep everyone else off it.

Power-ups

In Arena, battle royale, the big arena and power-up rooms, special pickups appear on the board. Timed effects last eight seconds.

Battle royale: the closing zone

Twenty seconds after the start, the edge of the arena turns red and the safe zone shrinks by one ring every four seconds. A dashed red line and a countdown warn you before each ring closes. Food left outside the zone disappears, and any snake whose head ends up outside is eliminated.

Tips to win

Stay away from the walls early. The middle of the board gives you escape routes.
Cut across a rival's path just ahead of their head to force a crash.
Grab Ghost before you dive into a crowded area, and Magnet when lots of food is clustered together.
Take out several snakes in quick succession for a double, triple or rampage bonus.
In battle royale, move toward the centre before the countdown hits zero.
Long snakes are powerful but slow to turn around. Leave yourself space.
