Ranked snake: rating, seasons, tiers and leaderboards

By Avinash Kori, maker of Snake Feast · Updated 30 October 2026

Ranked play is for players who want their wins to count. Matchmaking finds opponents near your skill, your rating rises and falls with every result, and each month is a new season with tiers to climb.

Ranked queues

⚔️ DuelOne against one. No power-ups: pure skill.
🌀 Arena 4 and 6Free-for-all for four or six players, with power-ups.
🤝 Team 2v2Two teams of two, with power-ups.

Matchmaking looks for players of similar rating in your region first, then widens the search if it takes too long.

Battle royale: the red zone eats the edge of the arena one ring at a time.

Rating

Winning against stronger players raises your rating more; losing to weaker players lowers it more. Only matchmade games change your rating. Private rooms and friend challenges never do, so nobody can farm rating with friends.

Seasons and tiers

Each month is a season. You climb through seven tiers by earning rank points:

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Diamond
  5. Crown
  6. Ace
  7. Conqueror

The top tiers come with end-of-season rewards, including skins you can't get any other way (see skins).

The battle pass

Playing earns pass XP toward thirty levels of rewards: coins, skins and themes. There is a free track for everyone and a premium track for Premium members.

Leaderboards

  • Global, country and weekly leaderboards.
  • Win rate is only shown after twenty ranked games, so it means something.
  • Guests don't appear on leaderboards: create a free account to keep your rank.

Fair play

  • The server decides every result; your device only sends which way you turn.
  • Every ranked match keeps a replay that can be re-checked.
  • When the same two players meet too often in a day, those games stop changing rating, so win-trading doesn't work.

Tournaments

Every week there are knockout tournaments for 8 or 16 players, one against one. Register, be online at the start time, and your matches begin automatically. Winners earn prizes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account for ranked?

You can play as a guest, but only accounts appear on leaderboards and in tournaments. Creating one is free and keeps your stats.

When does a season end?

At the end of each month. Rewards for the tier you reached are given out, and a new season starts.

Does the big arena change my rating?

No. It counts for stats, missions and the season, but rating comes from the ranked queues.
