Capture the Food: team snake rules and tactics
Capture the Food is Snake Feast's team mode, inspired by capture the flag. Two teams, one trophy in the middle, and a base on each side. Carry the trophy home three times to win.
The rules
- Two teams, each with a base on its own side of the arena. Your snakes spawn on your side.
- A trophy 🏆 sits in the middle of the board. Drive over it to pick it up.
- Carry it back into your own base to score a capture.
- If the carrier dies, the trophy drops where it fell, and anyone can grab it.
- The first team to three captures wins.
Teamwork winsA lone carrier is easy to cut off. A carrier with a teammate guarding its path almost always gets home.
Roles
RunnerFast and short. Grabs the trophy and heads home by the safest path.
GuardLonger. Lays its body between the runner and the enemy, then blocks the base entrance.
HunterChases the enemy carrier and cuts it off. A dropped trophy is the best chance to steal a capture.
Attacking
- Approach the trophy from the side, not head-on: the enemy is coming for it too.
- Once you have it, don't fight. Get home.
- Your body is your team's wall: when you carry, your guard should be just behind you.
Defending
- Watch for the 🏆 marker on the enemy carrier and go for its head, not its body.
- Block the path to their base, not the base itself: a carrier that has to turn is a carrier you can trap.
- When the trophy drops, the team that reaches it first usually scores the next capture.

Yes. Create a private room, choose teams and the Capture the Food rules, and fill empty seats with bots if you need to.
